With the sun setting over the lush green fields, it also brings my journey across this beautiful region to a close. This was my first visit(not considering Berlin) to the former "Ost Deutschland" (East Germany). Though the farmlands are meticulous like the ones I have seen across its more industrious neighbor, the forests still bear the marks of a more raw past.
A climber on his way to the top decides to catch a breath, while enjoying the beautiful view of the blossoming mustard fields below. The 1000 odd sandstone peaks of Saxon Switzerland is a Mecca for rock climbers.
Navigating through the dense vegetation surrounding these sandstone peaks and sometimes also on top of the peak you could choose to take the steep trail or more adventurous vertical route. Getting a glimpse of the peak we are aiming for as the setting sun penetrates the tree cover. The green area here is well preserved considering that there is dense farming in the surrounding area.
